Tools for addressing CSE in youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Sexuality in people with ASD is a dimension of life that exists, that develops, and that poses specific challenges both for the professional teams that accompany them and for the families that care for them. However, it is one of the least addressed areas in the training of both groups.
Glasir Salud offers this workshop in two versions: one aimed at professionals from associations and foundations, and another designed specifically for fathers, mothers, and guardians. Both are taught by the same specialist, share the same conceptual framework, and are designed so that the messages the young person receives are consistent in all their contexts.

Is prior training in ABA required?
It is not necessary. Concepts are explained from scratch in an applied manner. If the group already has a background in ABA, we delve deeper into the case analysis.
Can we include cases from our own entity?
Yes. Part of the analysis time can be dedicated to real situations brought up by the participants, respecting confidentiality.
Can this workshop be combined with periodic supervision?
Yes. Many entities contract it as an intensive initial session and continue with monthly supervision to work on the cases that arise.

Workshop for families: how to accompany your son or daughter with ASD's sexuality and puberty from home
Puberty arrives. Bodily changes, sexual awakening, behaviors related to one's own body and with others: all this also happens in young people with ASD, sometimes in ways that baffle or worry their families. And often, without anyone having explained to them what to expect or what to do.
This workshop is designed for mothers, fathers, and guardians who want to accompany their sons or daughters with ASD in this stage from an informed, calm, and respectful place. Without taboos, without shame, with real tools.
The central premise: approach any situation respectfully and without shaming, always promoting autonomy and healthy expression. And do so in coordination with the professionals who accompany the young person, so that the messages are consistent in all contexts.
- No technical jargon: clear and accessible language for families.
- Strategies you can use from the very next day at home.
- Safe space to bring your questions and real situations.
- Coordinated with the approach of the professionals at the center or entity.
Who is it for?
- Fathers, mothers, and guardians of youth with ASD in the puberty or adolescence stage.
- Families with children with ASD who already present behaviors related to sexuality.
- Primary caregivers who live with the person with ASD at home.
- Families who want to get ahead before the changes arrive

Frequently asked questions
Does it make sense to come if my child has had behaviors for years that we haven't been able to change?
Yes. It is never too late to better understand why a behavior occurs and what strategies can help. The workshop offers a new framework to look at situations that have perhaps gone unresolved for some time.
Can we talk about specific situations regarding our child?
Yes, and that is what adds the most value. Part of the workshop is reserved for the analysis of real situations. There are no wrong questions. Everything shared is confidential.
Do both caregivers have to come?
It is not mandatory, although if there are two primary caregivers we recommend that both participate so that the strategies are consistent at home.
Is this workshop also valid for adults with ASD, not just adolescents?
Yes. The contents apply to both adolescence and adulthood. If the group is predominantly families of adults, we adapt the approach.
