Clinical psychology in Barcelona: specialised psychological care
Clinical psychology is the scientific discipline dedicated to understanding, assessing and treating the emotional, behavioural and relational problems that affect people's wellbeing and quality of life. At Glasir Salud we have a team of specialised clinical psychologists who provide care across the entire life cycle: childhood, adolescence, adulthood and older age.
Our way of working starts from a fundamental premise: every person is unique. For this reason, before proposing any intervention, we carry out a thorough assessment that allows us to understand not only the symptoms or difficulties present, but also the history, context and resources of each patient. Treatment is tailored to the individual and continuously reviewed according to their progress.
We work with evidence-based approaches — cognitive-behavioural therapy, functional analytic psychotherapy, third-generation therapies, EMDR — selecting in each case the most appropriate approach for the problem and the person.

When to seek psychological help?
It is not necessary to be in crisis to see a psychologist. There are signs that may indicate it is time to ask for support:
- When emotions interfere with daily functioning (work, relationships, self-care)
- When personal attempts to resolve the problem are not working
- When there are recurring thoughts causing distress or mental blocks
- When physical symptoms have no clear medical explanation
- When going through a significant life change (separation, loss, illness, parenthood, retirement)
- When something simply feels wrong, even if it is difficult to explain
Frequently asked questions
How do I know what type of therapy I need?
You don't need to know in advance. At the first consultation we conduct an assessment interview to understand your situation and determine which approach and which professional best suits your needs. We will guide you.
How long does a therapeutic process last?
It depends on the reason for consultation and the goals. There are brief, focused interventions of 8–12 sessions for specific problems. Deeper processes of personal change may extend over several months or more. We always work with clear objectives and review progress on a regular basis.
Is online therapy just as effective?
For most problems, research shows that online therapy has equivalent effectiveness to in-person therapy. There are specific cases (certain phobias, work with young children) where in-person sessions offer advantages. We will let you know if this applies to your situation.
Can I change psychologist if I don't feel comfortable?
Yes, always. The therapeutic alliance — the relationship of trust between patient and therapist — is one of the most decisive factors in treatment success. If for any reason it is not working, we manage the change without any difficulty.
Does the first consultation commit me to continuing?
No. The first session is an assessment consultation with no obligation. It is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to explain what brings you here, and for us to propose a plan of work. The decision to continue is entirely yours.
